Helen’s Asian Kitchen stainless steel strainer featrues a 5-inch diameter stainless steel bowl that won't rust and is dishwasher safe. The bamboo handle is non-conductive so it does not transfer heat. Discover what cooks in the orient have known for centuries. The web-like design of the bowl quickly whicks away oils, water and broth. This means, when frying, the strainer quickly disipates the oil away from the food leaving a crisp, crunchy coating. Great for frying May 10, 2010

This has been the best scoop for deep frying that I have ever owned. You wouldnt know it until you actually use it but it allows you to remove both large and small objects from the boiling oil before they burn and with minimul effort. It has held up well through use also.

While looking at this product, I came across other models that were larger. Based on some of the other reviews I decided to go with this model, and I was glad that I did.

It really is the perfect size for its intended purpose - to remove items that have been frying in oil, OR to remove pasta from boiling water. It does a great job for both.

The construction seems sturdy and well built, and I like the wooden handle because it stays cool to the touch.

Spider skimmers are larger than you think, but this one is the perfect size, fits into our smallest saucepan. A necessity for anyone who does a lot of boiling . . .

Great Spider, this is an excellent value. The handle is nice and wide so it does not try and turn over on you when you are extracting the food.
