Perfect for the kitchen, all in style Jul 14, 2010
By Patrice Bonnefoi "A+" for absorbency, these towels are very thirsty for liquids. Any spill around the kitchen can quickly be contained with this product, and all in grand style. It seems that the superior ability to attract and retain water comes from the weave itself. When I looked closely at the way the towels are constructed, the "basket" weave really looks like old pieces of furniture from the art deco era where laniard was intertwined to create the effect of a basket. These equivalent laniards are made of 7 to 10 individual yarns assembled in a band, but each having the ability to retain liquid, dust, or spills of any type in the kitchen. My first test was on a small mounticule of flour that escaped from the top of the bag. these towels can gorge themselves with the bulk of the flour powder and remove most of it on the first try. The next pass, with a damp towel finished cleaning up the countertop and restored its original shine.

Great Quality May 11, 2011
By D. Scott I've used mine for several months and the quality is very high. Great weave, highly absorbent, and launder like a dream. I've even bleached a couple after a nasty bout with tomato sauce in which they had to wait to be laundered and fading was almost indiscernible. I will absolutely buy more and haven't found a better deal anywhere else than here.

Good but some shedding Aug 17, 2011

These are good towels, especially for the price, but they did shed heavily when washed. I washed twice and had to clean fibers out of the washtub. Other than that, great towels. Just be sure to wash alone the first time or two.

Very Disappointing--unbelievably non-absorbent Dec 16, 2011
By GY I usually find Amazon reviews to be quite informative and reliable, but not in this case. I was shocked when I used these towels the first time after 7 rave reviews. It's difficult to understand the positive reviews unless different towels are being sent for different orders. I should have listened to the one negative review as it was dead-on correct. It is unbelievable how bad these towels are when it comes to absorbency. They simply push liquid around and soak up very little. This is after two washings. My only hope is that with further, repeated washing the absorption of the towels might improve. If not, I consider them worthless and will throw them out. I have never seen towels so non-absorbent. What's odd is they appear that they are of substantial cloth with a heavy weave that would soak up liquid just fine. Appearance is not reality, it seems, with these towels. Pass on these, I say, since there is a good chance you'll get towels that perform poorly.

What does "Commercial Grade" mean? Nov 16, 2011
By lawrence barisonek Unfortunately, these towels are terrible at absorbing any spills. I have washed them three times thinking that it would improve them, but to no avail. Not only did I waste my money, but I also threw out my old towels which were reaching the end of their useful lives but still worked better than these.
